I have not posted the whole of the trip, and will catch up on the way home as now I can't emotionally handle it. Bhel is everything I have been seeking, she is a stunning beauty with a heart of gold. She is god fearing and loyal, in short the. In short amazing woman I have ever known. It's Sunday morning and I am fighting back the tears, I love her so much, how can I leave here, how can I not be by her side. God please let this K1 go fast.

It's the night before my flight, and I have butterflies.I start my journey to Bhel at 5 a.m. tomorrow morning when I get up, get dressed, get the girls dressed, and head out the door at 6. Tonight I worked on our I-129F. I have the entire document put together, and ready for signatures. Initially the forms looked very daunting, but after reading the instructions they're actually quite easy. I understand of course that if there is multiple children involved on the foreign fiance's side then there's quite a bit more to fill out. Given our situation where Bhel is single and has no kids, it was quite easy. A couple of things of note I'd put together an itinerary pack the other day detailing every place we will be going and staying and last night realize that I can use this is our proof of having met along with pictures. I'll save my boarding passes, slide them into the appropriate pages, and tada I have proof with of meeting. The other thing that is important to save is all Western Union receipts, and receipts for gifts purchased for your foreign fiance, as additional proof of ongoing relationship.

Little red dress
I came home to a nice surprise. The dress that I and Bhel ordered for her off from tbdress.com came in today. Bhel's favorite color is red, and we found a great little number at a very reasonable price. One thing we are learning is that ordering from sites such as tbdress.com that are located in China is that it can take awhile for them to get your product to you. We have been worried that it would not arrive in time for the trip I'm glad it did. I can't wait to post pictures of her in it. In the meantime here's a picture of the dress and the shoes in their packaging.
Paypal, like an old friend
For those of you who don't know PayPal is a wonderful web payment service. They serve as an extra layer of protection when using your bank account and your credit cards online. I said earlier when talking about transferring money that I'd found a lower-cost solution and Pay Pal is that. After talking with the staff at PayPal I determined that I would be able to have them issue a second card on my account with Bhel's name on it. By doing this I would get a PayPal debit card with bhel's name on it that she could use in the Philippines. PayPal does charge a dollar fifty fee for withdrawing funds at an ATM, but does not charge an international service fee for transactions done in other countries. PayPal confirmed that if the card is activated in the Philippines it will be listed as primarily being used in the Philippines and thus will not flag the account. I'm hoping that Bhel's card arrives before I travel to the Philippines next week but if it doesn't we will try our hand at sending our first care package when I get back.

Transferwise to the rescue.
While booking our stay at Hotel h2o in Manila I had a couple of options for paying for my room reservation. First among these was to send them a copy of my credit card front side and back side and a signed statement giving them permission to charge my card. I wasn't entirely comfortable sending them the image of my credit card after some of the things I've read on the web and I decided to go with their second option. This was a direct wire transfer to their bank. Hotel h2o offers two different banks that money can be deposited into, along with all the necessary information to do it. I approached my bank heritage family credit union to ask them to handle the transfer for me which was for $560. Heritage family credit union let me know that they charge $28 for an international transfer and a 3% international service fee on top of that. So I started looking at other options and that's when I discovered transferwise. Transferwise is an Internet bank transfer service. For my particular Transaction they only charged me a $9 service fee. They had the money in h2o's account within four days of the transfer, and I contacted hotel h2o and let them know. About a week and a half ago I was contacted by hotel h2o, they were informing me that they could not find my deposit and that I must show proof of my deposit within 72 hours or else my booking might be in jeopardy. I immediately went into panic mode, and tried not to panic Bhel by keeping most of it to myself. I really didn't want her to worry about it. Once I calmed down I contacted transferwise. Transferwise spring into action on my behalf. They started off by writing a letter confirming the deposit, all the banking details, and sent it to hotel h2o. They contacted hotel h2o's bank directly and requested an image of the original deposit tickets showing what account it went into and what tag name was applied to the ledger line. Transferwise had the information on the deposit ticket and an image of it to me within 24 hours and I mailed that on to Hotel h2o. With the information that transferwise got for me hotel h2o was able to confirm my reservation and send me proof showing the room was prepaid. My thanks go out to transferwise and their wonderful staff I'm including a link here for anyone that would want to use them I highly recommend their service.

Western Union
Okay so Western Union is a godsend to people who have family or loved ones in other countries. Using their online service you are able to get money quickly to the people that need it. Both I and Bhel have been very grateful for Western Union services.
A couple of quick things that people should be aware of:
1: Western Union makes its money off from the exchange rate, and off the service be at the time you place your transfer. Oftentimes the exchange rate offered by Western Union will be slightly lower than the International Bank exchange rate. It's never an incredible amount but if you're pinching pennies it is noticeable.
2: money transferred is nearly instantaneous, I found that transfers are ready for pick up sold them more than minutes after I placed the transfer.
3: some pickup locations may attempt to charge an additional amount as a pickup fee, this is not something that Western Union doesnd is solely on the pick up location.

boring stuff - the bank
Ack..... boring stuff,
So I've been doing a lot of web research and have been discovering some important questions to ask your bank. One of the big ones is can I use my atm debit card in other countries. What I found from my bank heritage family credit union is that yes I can as long as I give them my travel plans. They basically want to know what cities and countries I'll be in and using my card so they can keep an eye on it. Well when looking into that something else came up and that's the International purchase service fee. This is a fee charged by your bank to make international purchases, in the case of my bank its a 3% charge this applies both to ATM cash withdrawals and purchases. It's also helpful to know the daily spending limit on your card for my particular bank it's $1,500 for purchases and $300 for cash. I did end up finding a lower cost solution, but I'll cover that in another piece.
As of now my travel plans with my bank are all set my card is ready to use. I not only let them know the islands I'll be visiting while in the Philippines, I also let them know the layovers I have on flights to get there.

The Plan
When I started all this I realized that a major part of it is that trip to the Philippines to meet the girl of my dreams. So I started making basic plans, getting money together, working on my visa, and talking to my family about it. At that point back mid December I had this idea in my head that I would go to Manila, spend a week, and over the course of that week go on a number of different dates. The idea was to sort through a list of girls that I thought might be right. the plan being then when I did meet someone I really wanted to be with I would then go back to the Philippines later on in the year or possibly next year and spend an entire week with them.
It goes without saying that all these plans changed when I met Bhel. I had originally planned to go to the Philippines in April during the third week. I had planned it this way because of the extra paycheck I get in the month of April. once I met Bhel, and we swiftly realized what an incredible match we were for each other, I knew I had to change my plans. all I wanted to do is go to the islands and spend as much time as I could with this amazing girl. In our talking about the trip in April we kept wishing it could be sooner, but there were some work issues that prevent that. The biggest of all these issues with work was that there wasn't another tech in Vermont that was ATM trained. I am an ATM technician, and although my best friend Larry had just gotten hired he hadn't yet finished his ATM training. Thanks To the tireless efforts of Larry and my territory manager we were able to get Larry into ATM school, and I was able to move the dates up by nearly a month.
On January 8th I purchased my ticket to Manila, after talking to Bell on January 12th I purchased a connecting flight to Tacloban and we committed to spending the time together. Since then we have extended my stay from 7 days to 14, and have made plans to visit some amazing places while in the Philippines. among these amazing places are Kalanggaman Island
, the Caluwayan Palm Island Resort, Hotel h2o in Manila, Ocean Park in Manila, and Enchanted Kingdom in Manila.
right now the flight plan is as follows
March 17th - Catch my first of three flights out of Albany NY at 9:35
March 19th - Arrive in Tacloban and stay at hotel XYZ for the night
March 20th - Travel to Kalanggaman Island with Bhel’s family (my new inlaws)
March 21st - Return from the island, and depart from Bhel’s amazing family
March 21st - Take a van to the Caluwayan Palm Island Resort for 4 days.
March 25th - Take a plane together to Manila and the hotel H2O.
March 26th - Visit The Magic Kingdom
March 29th - Return home to Vermont to start the K1 Visa process..

How hard can it be to deliver something from one island to another?
How hard can it be to deliver something from one island to another?
Or the story of Bell's birthday Fiasco.
January 26th is my beautiful Bhel's birthday. by this time we've been talking for four or five weeks and I wanted to try to do something special for her birthday. It can be difficult to manage the romantic aspects of a relationship over an 8000 mile distance but I am to this day still bound and determined to do it. So here was the plan I wanted to send you a bouquet of roses, a birthday cake (Black Forest chocolate cake to be exact), and send her money to purchase a tablet. now the tablet is also for my benefit because her Note 2 phone was not the best at handling Skype. Skype is proving to be a major asset in building this relationship as it allows us to see each other every day twice a day and for at least a couple hours in each conversation sometimes even longer. But I digress from the story.
I decided to use a website called flora 2000, they are advertised on the front page of CB end seem to be connected to the site in some way. On the 8th of January I placed my order coming to about $80 total for cake and roses, and of course delivery charges. not bad considering where it was going to. the roses were to come out of Manila, and the cake was to be prepared by a bakery in Tacloban, and then delivered also.
I had to tell Bhel to be expecting something from me, otherwise being that it is her birthday she might be off somewhere else when the packages arrived. this of course was an assumption that they would actually deliver stuff on her birthday like I requested. Bhel’s birthday came and went and there are no flowers, and there was no cake. Bhel waisted her day waiting, and it lead to our first spat, which I feel bad about to this day. The site manage to deliver the flowers a full 24 hours late, and they were never able to deliver the cake. Nearly two weeks later the bakery contacted Bhel to ask her to pick up her birthday cake. by this time I had canceled the order and asked for a refund. The bakery that was responsible for the cake actually continue to contact bell for a couple of weeks about this cake.
The really good things that came out of this is that I learned that a larger time frame is needed to accurately get stuff to be delivered. using this knowledge I was able to order Bhel’s Valentine's Day candy and flowers far enough ahead of time to ensure that she received them for the holiday. although the new site delivered the items to her before Valentine's Day, they actually delivered a day early. looking back at that I would rather a little early then a lot late.
The tablet that Bhel purchased which is a tab 3 has been a great asset in our relationship. it has an excellent Wi-Fi range, a clear camera, and handles Skype very well. I strongly recommend anyone going through this process to invest in a good tablet and or laptop for their overseas love as this will allow you more options for things to do together while you wait on your k1 visa process.

Willobee and Jenny
How about a little bit about my friend Willobee and his wonderful wife Jenny. I have been absolutely inspired by the love that Willobee and Jenny have found and wish now that I had started my journey on Cherry Blossoms much sooner. I look at them as an example of what I want out of a relationship, they work together as a team, defend eachother, enjoy eachother, and have a tight family bond. Early on in this journey Willobee and Jenny were very protective wanting to meet anybody that I talk to on CB on Facebook. I can't thank them enough for this as it can be a scary experience to start off. When I introduced Jenny and bell an amazing coincidence popped up. Jenny and Belle are from the same city in the Philippines the city of Tacloban. this immediately started a connection where they had stuff to talk about. from what I can see Jenny and Belle have a great potential for a friendship much like the friendship that exists between Willobee and myself. needless to say Jenny and Willobee have given their blessing on our relationship and I am grateful for their patience in all my stupid little questions like -
can you get ginger ale in the Philippines?
Can you get nyquil in the Philippines?
how do I say this or that?
and a list that goes on seemingly forever that Will and Jenny have answered without pause.
God bless you both Willobee and Jenny for all your love and support through this.

What start with mine -
‘My name is David and I live in Mount Tabor Vermont with my three little ones, they are with their mom 50% of the time and thus have time for adventures of my own. I am a parent, and I love being a dad. The house we live in has been in my family for 8 generations, passed down through the years. Our family is rounded out with a dog. I am 6’4” 220 Lbs with sandy brown hair and brown eyes. I work out to keep in shape, but I am by no means obsessive about it. I love being active year round. Martial arts, snowboarding, skiing, camping, fishing, hiking, and spelunking are all come to mind for things to do. When it comes to food I will try just about anything. I love Chinese, Mexican, and seafood. I enjoy trying new foods whenever I can. I love to eat out, but one of my passions is to make a meal for the lady in my life as I simply love to cook. My favorite forms of entertainment include Movies, MMORPGs, and dancing. For movies I like romantic comedies, sci-fi, and action. Hollywood has thrown a lot of crap at us lately, but there is still that shinning gem of a movie now and then. Dancing is a whole story in and of its self, see my parents where dance instructors. I grew up in dance halls when dance halls really existed. I know how to dance, I love to dance, and yes I can lead. I simply love music, dancing and being close, I am more for wanting to get closer, not creating more space than cyber-space already has.
I want to explore, dance, discover, and learn with someone that seeks the same out of life. Meeting someone is hard. You never know what choice will be the right choice for sure. There are so many questions, and in time we can get so gun-shy that we start to avoid making these choices and settle for being alone, being alone is less painful than a failed relationship I also feel that the emotional and intellectual parts of a relationship are as important as the sexual parts, but there still has to be an attraction for the relationship to evolve over time. Sex its self is not everything, but sexual compatibility can be. I love to take care of that special person in my life, and giving them my all. I want to not have to worry about my needs and only worry about theirs, because I know they are doing the same for me. I don't mind a little chase, but if you just stop messaging me, if you don't give any incentive for the chase, I will move on. I have a great life I love, a great house, awesome job, tons of love to give, I am affectionate and attentive, and I am a good looking guy. I am not looking for someone because I need someone, I am looking for THE someone because I want to share a life with a partner. I am not here for games of cat and mouse, I am here to find long lasting passion and love.Enthusiasm is a must, if you are not excited about me, why waste each others time.”
and now my beautiful Bhel’s profile-
“hello, my name is Lorebel, my friends, or you can call me Bhel, I'm a very simple person, kind heated, i'm searching for a friend, a best friend, my soulmate and my true love, which is actually age is not really that important...who is ready to commit a serious lifetime relationship with love, trust, honesty and respect.
Please do write me an email, i may be online all the time, but I'm busy if you leave me a message, I would definitely respond to you at any time... thanks.”
like I said, I wrote a book but this angel made it through it.

In the beginning...
This journey of love for me started back in November of 2015 when I decided that I had had it up to my ears with the relationships I had been having here in the US and wanted to find a new direction . it seems like every 4 to 6 months I would slap on my love radar and if there was a psychotic female in a 500 mile radius I would be on her doorstep saying "I'm feeling too good about myself can you please knock me down a few notches". To really tell the story in full I would have to go way back to when my friend Willobee met is now wife Jennifer . back then we had nearly the same luck at love and we worked around each other nearly daily . Will introduced me to a website blossoms.com which is an online dating site to meet women in other countries . Will had met an amazing woman that turned his life around and gave the man a permanent smile on this site and I can not find words to express how happy I am for both of them to this day. Although this idea intrigued me at the time I still thought I knew better and I kept dating here in the US . Needless to say that did not go well and after a couple of more failed relationships I decided to fill out a profile at blossoms.com or as it's otherwise called cherry blossoms . I filled out my profile and tried to make it as complete as possible , after all I know what I'm looking for, I know what I want, and I know what I need . I had many very pleasant conversations on the site to start off with but on December 27th I found a profile that absolutely stunned me . Lorebel was intelligent , active, and beautiful . One of the biggest problems that I have had in the past in relationships is finding somebody that is as active and likes to have fun, at least fun by my definition. At the end of this post I want to put Lorebel's profile from cherry blossoms its was eye catching in the desert of one sentence profiles out there. Many of the profile there had amazing pictures but one sentence was all they put for the profile text . I guess in hindsight my profile was a little bit long compared to everybody else's , it was almost like a book . but for those that made it to the end of it they knew exactly what I was looking for in no uncertain terms because after the luck I've had I was not going to settle . Bell is far from settling she's an amazing woman , she has a beautiful heart and soul , she's absolutely gorgeous , she's kind, and loving . I am blessed to have her in my life.
The idea for this blog came up recently in a conversation between the two of us. It's my hope that not only can we use this in our k1 visa process , but down the road it might help others understand the process and know what's needed so that they can have their dream come true. I will be back tracking for a little bit to let everybody know what happened between there and here and with hope we get caught up and can use it as a journal as time goes on . I will be opting Bhel on the site so she can post , and we welcome comments and questions as time goes on .
