Transferwise to the rescue.

While booking our stay at Hotel h2o in Manila I had a couple of options for paying for my room reservation. First among these was to send them a copy of my credit card front side and back side and a signed statement giving them permission to charge my card. I wasn't entirely comfortable sending them the image of my credit card after some of the things I've read on the web and I decided to go with their second option. This was a direct wire transfer to their bank. Hotel h2o offers two different banks that money can be deposited into, along with all the necessary information to do it. I approached my bank heritage family credit union to ask them to handle the transfer for me which was for $560. Heritage family credit union let me know that they charge $28 for an international transfer and a 3% international service fee on top of that. So I started looking at other options and that's when I discovered transferwise. Transferwise is an Internet bank transfer service. For my particular Transaction they only charged me a $9 service fee. They had the money in h2o's account within four days of the transfer, and I contacted hotel h2o and let them know. About a week and a half ago I was contacted by hotel h2o, they were informing me that they could not find my deposit and that I must show proof of my deposit within 72 hours or else my booking might be in jeopardy. I immediately went into panic mode, and tried not to panic Bhel by keeping most of it to myself. I really didn't want her to worry about it. Once I calmed down I contacted transferwise. Transferwise spring into action on my behalf. They started off by writing a letter confirming the deposit, all the banking details, and sent it to hotel h2o. They contacted hotel h2o's bank directly and requested an image of the original deposit tickets showing what account it went into and what tag name was applied to the ledger line. Transferwise had the information on the deposit ticket and an image of it to me within 24 hours and I mailed that on to Hotel h2o. With the information that transferwise got for me hotel h2o was able to confirm my reservation and send me proof showing the room was prepaid. My thanks go out to transferwise and their wonderful staff I'm including a link here for anyone that would want to use them I highly recommend their service.
